Quetica is applying supply chain network optimization principles to the energy sector, working proactively to define viable contingencies to better manage extreme fluctuations and disruptions in utility networks, as well as the supply of energy commodities, like propane.
The propane crisis of 2014 presented significant concerns for Midwestern states. The State of Iowa took a scientific approach to address these challenges by applying chain network optimization principles to their propane supply chain. The objective was to understand the root causes of issues that resulted in the propane shortage and leverage that knowledge to proactively and objectively analyze potential risks and opportunities to better manage the propane supply in the future.
