Business Park Feasibility Study – Chippewa County
Quetica was part of a team conducting a feasibility study for a new business park within Chippewa County. The feasibility of a new park was assessed from several perspectives including business demand, development costs, site selection criteria, operation requirements, among others, and identified industrial sites meet both market demand and are technically ready for development.
The project answered two interrelated questions:
1) Is there continued demand for industrial space in Chippewa County?
2) If so, where is the best feasible location for a new industrial park?
Quetica’s Engineering and GIS practices were responsible for leading the technical aspects of the study and tasked with a conducting a desktop site review, making on-site visits, gathering stakeholder input, and producing a full due diligence site plan. Quetica’s Transportation Planning Practice provided a look into the ‘who’, the ‘what’, the ‘where’, and the ‘how’ local shippers utilize the transportation network to facilitate trade with a freight flow analysis.
