City of Coon Rapids City Center Roof Replacement

The City Center Roof Replacement project for the City of Coon Rapids encompassed the comprehensive replacement of approximately 62,000 square feet of existing EPDM ballasted roofing with a new high-performance built-up roofing system. This project included full removal and replacement of the roofing insulation and prefinished sheet metal flashings across multiple key facilities, including City Hall, the Police Department, and the Civic/Senior Center.

Roof deck types addressed in the project ranged from non-structurally sloped wood, precast concrete plank, and metal decks to structurally sloped roof systems. Enhancements included upgraded insulation to improve energy efficiency and redesigned roof drainage systems—featuring added drains and scuppers—to ensure better water management and long-term durability. This critical infrastructure investment improves building performance while supporting the City’s commitment to sustainability and operational excellence.
