City of Eden Prairie – Utilities Garage Roof Replacement
Quetica’s engineering group has been serving as the City of Eden Prairie’s Facilities Maintenance Consultant for the past 15 years. We routinely lead design projects for the City that range from roofing projects, exterior façade building maintenance, and cooling tower replacements to annual facility upgrade and repair projects for all aspects of their facilities.
The Utilities Garage Roof Replacement project included roof replacement, roof edge sheet metal flashing replacement, and removal of abandon mechanical equipment / patching of the roof deck. This roof replacement project included roof replacement, modifications to the roof curbs / supports for the mechanical systems due to increased roof insulation thickness, replacement of existing roof drainage scuppers and downspouts, and improvements to the overflow scuppers. The scope of work included replacement of the existing EPDM loose laid ballasted roofing system with a new built-up roofing system. The exiting roof deck was sloped metal decking and precast concrete planks. At the metal deck areas the existing 1″ layer and 1½” layer of polyisocyanurate insulation were reused and a 2½” layer of polyisocyanurate insulation layer and perlite insulation were added, significantly increasing the roofing system overall R-Value.
Role: Quetica served as Project Manager and Engineer.
