Missouri DOT Statewide Freight + Rail Plan

Quetica was part of a team of consultants working on the Missouri Statewide Freight and Rail Plan. Quetica integrated approximately 8 million private sector shipment records with TRANSEARCH commodity flow records in order to bring unparalleled freight flow data to the project. Quetica was tasked with detailing five key Missouri supply chains: E-commerce, Crop Production, Food Manufacturing, Transport Equipment, and Chemicals. In addition, Quetica was responsible for inventorying freight generating facilities throughout the state including truck parking facilities, multimodal hand-off points, last mile connections, and various logistical services such as distribution centers. We led a competitive benchmarking analysis using shipment records to assess Missouri shippers’ transportation costs across modes and their competitive position versus shippers in neighboring states. In addition, the shipment records were combined with other economic data to estimate the percentage of the state’s gross product devoted to moving goods within supply chains.
