NCHRP 25-50 Prioritization for Proposed Road-Rail Grade Separation Projects

NCHRP 25-50 Prioritization for Proposed Road-Rail Grade Separation Projects

The goal of NCHRP 25-50 was to identify additional criteria beyond traditional traffic and safety factors that can help planners make better investment decisions for at-grade crossing separation projects and that allow for a more objective means of comparing project alternatives. The research focused on working with stakeholders to identify the most important criteria, and package stakeholder preferences for evaluation criteria into user-friendly tools that state and local planners can execute to prioritize investment needs for at-grade crossing improvements.
