The primary objective of this project was to create a master site and grading plan for an 81-acre site that included the following primary components:
- Outdoor rifle range
- Trap and skeet fields
- Sporting clay facility
- Proposed building pad
- Wetland mitigation
- Floodplain mitigation
- Levee (the site sits within the floodway of the Mississippi River)
- Perimeter and interior roadways
- New water and sanitary sewer connections to public infrastructure
Key challenges included achieving operational and functional efficiencies of the site while protecting human life and safety and the natural environment. In addition, the project involved close coordination with a variety of local, state, and federal agencies and balancing a whole host of wants and needs with agency requirements.
