Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center Mental Health Unit Renovation


Quetica served as the engineer providing low voltage engineering design services for the new Inpatient Mental Health Unit which was renovated in two distinct phases over a two-year period.
The overall scope of services for this project included architecture, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, structural engineering, interiors, fire protection, medical equipment planning and low voltage services. Quetica coordinated with multiple professional disciplines and the client, as required, to provide design, construction documents (plans and technical specifications) that was used in conjunction with the architect to solicit bids from sub-contractors and do the work necessary for the renovation. The spaces complied with applicable Veteran’s Administration building codes.
Project #618-17-127 is a $5.5M Mental Health Unit Inpatient Renovation project at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Quetica served as project manager for the planning and design of the low voltage systems including: horizontal cabling systems, cable/satellite television, electronic access and door control systems, security surveillance television, public address system, wireless access points, duress call system and nurse assist system.
